Connect Looker Studio and Quickbase
Using quicktie to connect a Quickbase object to Looker Studio.
After you have signed up for Quicktie, collect the information from your Quickbase app that you would like to connect.
First, note down your "domain" -- it's the subdomain when you're accessing the Quickbase platform. So for example, when you're platform is "quicktie.quickbase.com" then this means your domain is "quicktie" -- see below:
Second, you need to create a "user token" -- click on your name in the corner, then navigate to "My preferences"
Then find "My User Information" and click "Manage my user tokens for the ____ realm" (note that the blank "___" will match the realm/domain we just collected).
Click "New user token"
Give it a descriptive name, and make sure its assigned to the app you want to use:
Hit "Save"
Then the "Token" section in gray will provide the full token (formatted like this b2347_XXXX_0_XXXXXXXXXXXX)
For more help with user tokens, please see here.
Finally, navigate to the page of the specific table you'd like to connect. Not just the homepage of the app, but to the table itself. You'll then find the DB ID in the URL of that page. The format of the url will be "REALM.quickbase.com/db/DBID?...." -- the DB ID is just the alphanumeric string between the final slash and the question mark.
For example, in "https://quicktie.quickbase.com/db/bs2v5rwjh?a=td" the DB ID is "bs2v5rwjh".
Create a "Connector" on Quicktie.io via clicking "New Connector"
Input the three items we collected above, plus a name and select type of "Quickbase" on the new connector screen.
After hitting "Create Connector", launch the connector page into the Looker Studio configuration.
Select the name of the connector from the dropdown, and then click "Connect"
It may take up to 15 minutes to load the data the first time using the connector. If the connector doesn't work after this period, check the keys, and then try again. And, finally reach out to us to help!
